I need a barefoot shoe, or just zero drop with some cushion ok, with sturdy uppers, and bonus points for being water proof.

I work in veterinary medicine and I'm up and down a lot so the side of the balls of my feet are where shoes always fail. Mesh uppers rip quickly, glued soles peel apart, etc.

I currently get the whitin canvas shoes for $40. This is the best I've found for cost vs durability. Willing to spend more if a shoe could last 2 years.
