Seeking licensing rights to Amos Ferguson painting

Hello all!

I am a Canadian pastor, trying to get in touch with whatever entity may hold the licensing rights to the painting "The Whale Did Swallow Jonah" by the Bahamian artist Amos Ferguson. I am hoping to obtain a non-commercial license for use of the image on a church website, in connection with a sermon series on the Book of Jonah.

The image was used as album art for the Smithsonian Folkways album, "The Bahamas: Islands of Song" (1997), where the liner notes indicate that it was used "courtesy of Beryl Edgecombe, Webe & Tomland, New York City, Sawyer's Studio, Nassau, Bahamas."

Unfortunately, I can't find any online presence for either Webe & Tomland or Sawyer's Studio; I fear both enterprises may be defunct. Neither have I been able to find contact information for Mrs. Beryl Edgecombe, who I understand was lately President of The Bahamian American Cultural Society, Inc. in New York City. But this organization seems also not to have any current online presence.

If anyone can put me in touch with any of these organizations, I would be most grateful! God bless you, and God bless the Bahamas!

*Why* is circumcision practiced on the Sabbath?

Hi all, Non-Jew here, curious about a point of Jewish law.

I see from the discussion in Mishnah Shabbat 18-19 that the command to circumcise on the 8th day takes precedence over the command not to work on the Sabbath. My question is: why? What's the rationale for this, or what principle is operative here?

The closest thing to an answer I can find is that in Talmud b. Shabbat 131b-132a, Rabbi Eliezer cites Leviticus 12:3 as the reason that the circumcision command takes precedence over the Sabbath command. But (unless, as is all too likely, I am missing something!) this doesn't really seem like an answer to the question; which is, why does Leviticus 12:3 take precedence over the Sabbath command, and not the other way around?

Grateful for any help you can give me / sources toward which you can point me!
