Dear vanlifers,

I humbly stand before thee for some of your experiences and advices. I’m considering living in a camper in Europe, i currently live in the Netherlands.

30 year old male, single, rental appartment. I have loads of free time, 2/3 weeks of work and 2/3 weeks of free time ( depends on the schedule in your contract 2:2 or 3:3). I work as a sailor, good job.

I struggle to find affordable housing here and I love being outdoors and active. I also would love the see and experience more of our world. Currently my rent is high and that drains a lot. So I’m think about buying a RV and ride around Europe and doing fun stuff along the way.

My only concern is loneliness, deep within there is a lonely part hidden. I do a lot of things already solo and it’s okay and enjoy them but I’m afraid I’ll get lonely and maybe dwell to deep in being alone , what are your experiences in this?

On the other hand I would love to experience the life on the road and maybe it could heal the lonely part by growing more close to yourself.

Thank in advance and have a nice day!

🚐💨
