What was the first sign your operational stack stopped scaling cleanly
we are reaching the point where our ERP stack feels heavier than the business itself. For context are running a mid sized ecommerce operation with multiple sales channels, external fulfilment partners growing SKU count and a mix of B2B + DTC workflows. For a while the setup worked fine because volume was manageable and most issues could be solved with small process adjustments or extra integrations.
lately through it feels like operational complexity is compounding faster than growth itself. inventory sycn delays dublicate data between systems, manual reconciliation, edge cases in fulfillment routing reporting inconsistencies etc. Nothing catastrophic individually but together they create constant friction and reduce trust in the data.
what i am struggling to understand is whether this is just the normal scaling pain every growing company hits or whether it usually signals the architecture itself is becoming too fragmented. For people who had same issue, did you optimeze processes and integration first? or did you eventually move toward a more centralized ERP setup?
