Afraid of Heights and Considering the Antelope Canyon Via Ferrata

Has anyone here done the Antelope Canyon rappel in Page? I’m planning my first solo trip and I'm seriously considering it, but I’m extremely afraid of heights.

I recently discovered that I can actually do indoor rock climbing and I’m pretty comfortable with an auto-belay, which I know they use as backup for the rappel. My biggest concern is going over that first edge. I honestly don’t know if I could convince myself to step backward over it.

For those who have done it, does it actually look like a long way down when you’re on the rungs, or does the canyon make it feel less exposed? How scary does it feel once you’re actually on the wall?

I’d love honest opinions from anyone who has done it, especially if you’re also afraid of heights. Should I give it a shot, or am I out of my mind?
