Looking to commission a Deaf artist for our ASL Club logo!

Hi everyone!
My name is Patti and I'm the new President of my school's ASL Club, and we've struggled for about two years to come up with a logo for our club. I thought reaching out to the Deaf community would be a great way to seek advice and hopefully commission a Deaf artist.
Our club has funds available for the project, but the budget would need to be discussed with the club and the artist.
One important note: the logo would need approval from both our instructor and the school, so approval isn't guaranteed. The logo can be in grayscale, as we can add our school's colors ourselves.
I'd appreciate any advice on approaching this respectfully. Is this a reasonable request, and is there anything I should keep in mind?
