Hwyl/hwylio

Question came up in our lesson today as to whether these words are connected or if they are false cognates. Can anyone shed any light on that?

Modern Hymns

I am trying to compile a playlist of modern hymns for us to consider for future set lists. Examples would include In Christ Alone, Yet Not I But Christ In Me. Has anyone already put such a list together? Anyone have any suggestions as to what to add?

Two Roads

I tend to write two types of song; some for inside church and some for outside. This one of the outside songs.

Verse 1:

There’s a road that’s wide and easy,

Full of pleasures full of smiles;

But in truth it's dark and empty,

All its promises are lies.

Verse 2:

There’s a path that few will follow,

Marked by mercy, marked by grace;

Though the road is tough and narrow,

It will lead to God’s embrace.

Chorus:

Two roads, one is death and one is life

Two roads, but only one way leads to Christ

Take it from someone who knows

Who’s tried the other way

The only path through this broken world

Is the Saviour’s way.

Verse 3:

So then which road will you follow

The choice is yours to make

The one that brings real treasure

Or the one where it’s all fake?

Chorus:

Two roads, one will stay and one will fade.

Two roads, one is loss and one is gain.

Take His hand, he’ll help you stand

Be with you through the day

On the road through this broken world

Walk in the Saviour’s way.

Coda:

There are two roads you can travel

Which one will you take?

Wait (Wait in Jerusalem)

Hi thought I’d share a song I released recently. I wrote it when we were in lockdown and have been meaning to release it around Pentecost for years. It’s not a song written for use inside church more for outside use.

I hope you enjoy it.
Edit: there wasn’t a tag that really suited a release perhaps we could add one?

To go on a retreat

How would you say a retreat as in Go on a retreat? Encil seems to fit, but the dictionary has so many alternatives. Diolch yn fawr.
