Cryo Archive - End of Season Tips

I assume most of the players are starting to dip their toes into Cryo, at least once or twice, as the season nears it end. With Ranked Cryo around the corner, I thought it may be helpful to give you all some tips me and my squad have learnt along the way. For reference, we completed 20+ Compiler runs just this weekend alone and too many vaults to count, sometimes 3+ in one run. Ill try to keep it short so its not a novel.

Squad Comp:

  • If you aren't running Recon, you are at a disadvantage. Simple as that. Run Recon if you are serious about getting out alive as much as you can
  • Feed your recon Energy Amps. Cryo throws you a lot, make sure your Recon is using them
  • Destroyer will speed up everything. Bots, commanders and compilers. They are also great at front lining
  • Your third is somewhat dependent. Second Recon if you are trying to play safe and avoid fights. Vandal or another Destroyer are great third picks. Triage is not as good as it seems, fights are very quick in Cryo. Assassin is the weakest. Just dont run him IMO.

Guns:

  • Gold Misriah is king. Regular Misriah is second. Regulars spawn all throughout gun lockers in Cryo, search them. Golds are much harder to find...for a reason.
  • Gold Bully / Bully is a great pairing with the Misriah
  • Salt Wages (LMG from Vault 3) , is basically an LMG Bully (but slower) with Thermals and a shield. Very good on a front liner (Destroyer)
  • Gold Volt Thrower has its niche, as does Circuit Breaker, but you MUST know how to use the Circuit Breaker for it to be any good. You can't use it as a regular shotgun
  • Fist of Phobos can be an amazing way to avoid, and/or find fights. Vault 5 unique. Its basically a Recon ult permanently, but give you an indicator (rather than tells you where they are).
  • WTSR is no longer good. Don't run this. If you can't get any of the above, a simple Bully alone can suffice. Outland can be useful sometimes, but its not great.

Gameplay:

  • Know where your hacks are (the screens) and where cards spawn. Certain spawns are static/very common.
  • Regular bots drops cards. Commanders always drop a card. Check every bot bag
  • Move as quick as you can. Kill bots, check spawns, check loot, move. Wasting time in early phase can cost you.
  • If you don't get level 2, you MUST move to Control quickly. You either want to avoid Control (get level 2), or be the first ones in there.
  • If you have to go to Control, get in there quick, know the hacks, find the spawns, get level 2 and get out.
  • Once level 2, just start moving from room to room (outskirts). Only move into Cryo later (when you have level 3), or after you have at least cleared 1 squad.
  • If you have a Gold Misriah, please, play close quarters. It will obliterate everyone.

Map:

  • Learn your routes, this will take time. You need level 2 to move freely, if you don't have that, get it.
  • Learn flanks, vents, doorways, lasers. You can use the lasers to your advantage to lock people in, or lock people out. Basically every engagement has a way to flank them.
  • Know your loot rooms, this is what you are aiming for. Level 3 rooms, panopticon, Level 4 Arsenal and Level 5 Hatch.
  • Panopticon has guaranteed hack and 2 commanders.
  • Always pick up batteries. The number of teams running vaults now, you can pretty much always get a key if you down a team. Be prepared.
  • If you need a Cryo tank for a vault, one spawns in level 3 room in Steerage. Another in Biostock. You can also fill empty ones at a spawn if you have batteries (not recommended)

I am sure there are many others that I can't think of right now, so feed free to add on. I am sure some people will disagree as well, but we ran 20+ compilers and died maybe 5 times altogether.
