What do you think ?
I’ve been thinking about a Halo game concept that I’d personally love to see someday, and I’m curious what other Halo fans think.
Halo: Memories of Reach
Instead of creating another sequel, this game would focus entirely on Noble Team and their lives before the events of Halo: Reach.
The story would take place years after Reach was glassed. Reach has been partially rebuilt, and Jun-A266 returns to the planet for the unveiling of a memorial dedicated to Noble Team. While there, he gains access to classified UNSC and ONI records, allowing players to relive the stories of each member of the team.
Rather than giving each character only a few missions, every member of Noble Team would receive a complete story arc of their own.
Carter: The burden of leadership and the mistakes that shaped him into Noble Team’s commander.
Kat: The brilliant strategist whose confidence is tested by failure and sacrifice.
Jorge: A Spartan-II trying to reconnect with the world he lost and the home he still loves.
Emile: Exploring the trauma and experiences behind the intimidating warrior we see in Reach.
Jun: A story centered on survival, loss, and the guilt of being the one left behind.
Noble Six: A darker campaign revealing the classified ONI operations that made him a legendary Spartan.
Each character would have around eight missions, forming a complete narrative with victories, failures, personal struggles, and character development. The goal wouldn’t be to show Spartans as invincible heroes, but as soldiers shaped by difficult choices and painful experiences.
The campaigns would also connect with each other. Characters would appear throughout one another’s stories, allowing players to witness the gradual formation of Noble Team and the relationships between its members.
After completing all six campaigns, players would unlock a final chapter featuring Noble Team operating together as a full unit.
These missions would show:
Their first major operation as a complete team.
A large-scale classified mission that demonstrates why Noble Team became one of the UNSC’s most respected special operations units.
A final mission set shortly before the events of Halo: Reach.
The game would end with Noble Team boarding a Pelican after receiving new deployment orders. The player would know exactly where they’re headed, but the characters wouldn’t. The final scene would seamlessly lead into the opening of Halo: Reach.
I don’t see this as a replacement for Halo: Reach. Instead, it would expand and enrich the original story by giving fans the opportunity to truly understand who Carter, Kat, Jorge, Emile, Jun, and Noble Six were before their final mission.
