I am a tutor on Preply for over 3 years now.

I recently saw a famous language tutor on Instagram posting several stories encouraging students to use Preply. I thought she's teaching on Preply and it's her right.

Then one day I saw her posting some "offer"on the first trial lesson and she said: "book a 1 hour trial lesson on Preply and the tutor will teach you for 1 hour. Get a lower price using ..."

I approached her and told her I am a tutor and this is actually bad for us especially that we dont get paid the first lesson. So 1. We shouldn't be teaching in the trial, and 2. If the student booked a lesson and left the tutor gets negatively affected.

She replied that it's a paid ad by Preply and they told her to mention this!
