Hi guys, I need some rules clarification.

My opponent attacks my defending Master Yi with Pickpocket and then places Hidden Blade on Master Yi. In response, I play a hidden Zhonyas from my battlefield. My opponent then plays Salvage to destroy the Zhonyas before it resolves.

My question is: does this interaction work like that?

My understanding is that since Salvage is an action spell, it creates a separate chain. So Zhonyas (which is reaction speed) should still resolve first along with Hidden Blade, returning Yi to base. After that, Salvage would fizzle because Zhonyas is no longer a valid target.

Am I understanding the timing correctly?
