Bvlgari Bali or Rosewood Thailand?

Planning a trip to either Bali or Thailand followed by Australia for 2027. If we do Bali, we’re pretty set on Blvgari in Uluwatu. The views from the cliffs look absolutely beautiful and I heard the hotel just went through a major renovation. However, my partner is more excited about Thailand over Bali and due to weather, if we want to do a Thailand trip instead, we need to get going on planning that. My big concern with Thailand is how hot is it really? Is the heat unbearable and does it make the trip miserable? Also we can’t decide between Phuket and Koh Samui. For Koh Samui I was thinking the Anatara, but I’ve heard mixed things, and for Phuket we were thinking Rosewood or maybe Sri Panwa.

We love good food, shops, exploring, we love a good beach but are not looking for a rot on a beach for 5 days type of trip haha. If you’ve been to both Thailand and Bali which did you prefer and any hotel help with be much appreciated xx

Anantara Marbella Review

We recently stayed at the Anantara resort in Marbella and absolutely loved it. We were in Portofino for a wedding and spent some time traveling around Italy before coming to Spain. We figured that we would be very tired (which we were lol) and would like some downtime to recharge before heading off to Madrid. It is a golf resort, however, we are not golfers and did not golf so I can’t speak to that aspect of the resort.

Pros-
Beautiful hotel- The design and grounds are beautiful. I specifically loved the gardens around the pool and the views from the resort looking down at the golf course and the water beyond it.

Amazing service- Everyone was extremely warm and helpful. We booked the base room through AMEX FHR and they upgraded us to a suite. They gave us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room.

Breakfast- the complimentary breakfast is amazing, there’s an abundance of options, the view from breakfast is also beautiful.

Restaurants- lots of options, we went to 3 and they were all very good.

Spa- the spa is absolutely beautiful. It’s huge and has several treatment rooms, multiple different types of saunas, cold plunge, indoor heated pool, relaxation room. This was definitely a highlight for me.

Cons-
The resort is situated up in the hills so it’s a bit of a drive to Marbella old town, Puerto Romano, the beach, etc. For us this wasn’t really an issue, but something to consider if you want to be able to easily walk to the beach. They do have a complimentary shuttle to their beach club which we really enjoyed!

TLDR: I absolutely loved Anantara Marbella and would highly recommend it. We booked on AMEX FHR and took advantage of the 4th night free promotion, however, even without the promotion I would definitely come back to the hotel and choose it over other Marbella options. 😊

Greece in May Island/ Hotel Recs :)

Hey there, my partner and I have never been to Greece and I’m so excited to start planning our trip for next May. We will probably go for about 15 days, and even though it’s generic, I really want to go to Mykonos and Santorini along with 2 additional islands.

For Mykonos I’m thinking of booking Deos, the views look beautiful! Has anyone stayed there?

For Santorini my friend told me to avoid staying in Oia and was recommending Fira, stating that Oia is very overcrowded and a bit tacky touristy. Is that true? Also I’ve heard Imerovigli is really nice, but I do want to go to shops and restaurants. How hard is it to get around Santorini? I’ve seen some people saying it’s awful and others saying it isn’t too bad. I would love any other hotel recommendations :)

For the last island or islands, I’d love to stay at a beautiful hotel, but besides that I’m pretty open to anything as long as it makes logistical sense! I was considering Naxos but open to anything!

We love dining and shopping and want something romantic, but we both don’t really drink.

Thanks in advanced for any recommendations. We’re finally in a place financially where we can start traveling chubby and I’m so excited for our trip 💙

Lake Garda

We’ve booked a trip to Lake Garda for the end of September following my friends wedding and are staying at Villa Cortine Palace in Sirmione. The hotel looks beautiful, but now I’m sort of second guessing our decision because I’m afraid Sirmione is a little far from other towns we want to explore around the lake. Any other chubby lake Garda hotels that you would recommend instead? Also which towns along lake Garda do you think give more of a luxurious vibe? Nervous that Sirmione will be too touristy, not sure if that’s the case. So excited for our trip, thank you so much for any suggestions 🩷
