Epidemic, the Lord of Plague

I accidentally made him look like Konshu. That’s supposed to be a plague doctor mask. His “suit” is supposed to be airy and light which allows him to move freely and shrink more easily. I’m thinking of doing a black and dark green main color scheme)

Epidemic, the Lord of Plague, AKA Dante Barbieri

Backstory

During the second world war, Italian leadership and high command was leagues better and more competent. Even then, it was defeated by the allies but it was much harder. When the Soviets liberated Yugoslavia, the Soviets helped it invade Fascist Italy from the north east while the Allie’s moved north. When the war ended, Italy was split much like Germany, the northern regions near the alps becoming a Soviet satellite and everything else becoming the Republic of Italy. Unlike Germany though, the Italian Peninsula was much more messy. There was many terrorist and separatist groups, and different factions rose. When the iron curtain and eastern bloc fell in 1991, the peninsula was in chaos. In Milan, Dante’s mother was pregnant with him and was with his dad and older siblings. A separatist group hit the town they were in with a biological weapon, killing and infecting everyone. When his mother gave birth to him in 1992, she was so weak she died right after. Dante’s surviving uninfected sibling raised him. Unrest in Italy never died down after that, and the Republic was fighting multiple factions. When he was 17, he was ambushed by terrorists and they pointed a gun at him. That’s when he discovered his powers. He mutated the strand of influenza he had and infected them with the stronger strand, making them dizzy and nauseas and shrank down to escape. After the encounter, he slowly discovered and mastered his skills and powers. As an unborn baby, the bioweapon mutated him giving his powers. He threw together cloaks and pieces of ragged cloth to create a suit covering his whole body and stole a Plague Doctor’s mask from a private collection and fitted it on himself. Now he is Epidemic, defender of the innocents of Italy and purger of evil, no matter what faction they are. Only his sibling know who he is. As Epidemic, he is a completely different person, feared by all.

POWERS:

Can shrink to the size of single celled organisms

Has the nature of a pathogen when shrinked. He can free float, cling to surfaces or a person, or even go inside someone. Anything a pathogen could do, he could do. The catch is that he must get back into the air to turn normal sized again

He has a “germ sense” allowing him to see all the pathogens and single celled organisms around him, and can even see the microbiome of someone. This allows him to remember specific people or places depending on what their microbes were like.

Microbes and pathogens (bacteria, viruses, mold and fungal spores/infections, protozoa, prions) around him are attracted to him and surround him like an infectious aura. He can absorb them (for example he could absorb tetanus bacteria onto his knuckles for “rusty knuckles”) and spread them to other people and surfaces around him (he can take malaria from mosquitos and spread it to someone himself)

Can mutate pathogens inside of him and close to him to cater to his needs. For example, he could take corrosive acid producing bacteria (Desulfovibrio) and mutate it to affect people or mutate bone growth bacteria (Lactobacillus Rhamnosus) to make his bones stronger. When he’s inside of someone he could even mess with their own microbiome

The parts of his body that help create cells for the immune system (bone marrow for example) are rewired so they double as pathogen manufacturer. When he bends a pathogen or mutates one, he could tell his immune system to start farming that strand in mass so he has more

Immune system is very strong so he’s not affected by harmful pathogens himself. He can weaken his immune system on command to allow mutated microbes to give him there effects if he wants

Weaknesses:

When I said he has the nature of a pathogen, that also applies to his weaknesses. Advanced anti viral measures and antibiotics weaken him, especially when he’s shrunken down

It take a few minutes for him to start farming strands in mass

Need help refining ideas

I am new here, I have never made a post. I am also relatively new to making superheroes. I have a few ideas I need to refine. I have a few other ideas that are already polished and not here. But these concepts are low key trahs and I need help, plus the names need workshopping.

The High Evolutionary

The high evolutionary isn’t capable offense of kicking of fights, he’d be curb stomped as the aggressor. Instead, he’s the ultimate mastermind, baiting and waiting for his enemies to attack first. He is patient and waits for the perfect time to set his plans of. He is counter reactive, literally

When his enemies attack him first, his body reacts in second and rapidly adapts to the fight at hand. If he’s hit really hard, he’ll develop thinker skin and stronger muscles to hit back just as hard. If his opponent has high agility, he might develop agility to counter or develop a precog sense to guess the enemy’s moves. So, in his base form he’s a normal person but his power cap is technically infinite, as he can rapdly evolve to fight even the strongest foe. But these adaptations and evolutions don’t last. After inactivity or little use, he loses what he’s just gained.

He‘s called the high evolutionary because he believe he’s the pinnacle of adaptation and evolution. I made him originally to be there villain for a team, but i thought he could also be turned into a hero.

Potential man

Potential man, heh that’s funny. This guy absorbs the kinetic energy of the world around him. If you are running near him or kick a ball, he will steal the kinetic energy from you or the ball and store it as potential energy. He can steal energy down to the movement of atom around him but that doesn’t provide as much potential energy to him as say, the movement of an animal or a plane flying overhead. When he steals the kinetic energy of something, it stops dead in its tracks and gravity and things act on it.

He can store all this movement (kinetic energy, and then reuse if for himself, granting him immense speed and stuff depending on how much he’s aborbed. If he absorbs the kinetic energy of say, a moving plane, he could redistribute that energy to himself and make his punches much faster, and in turn stronger, or could become a speedster temporarily. When absorbing a lot of kinetic energy, his speed and strength can last much longer. When he converts his potential energy into kinetic energy, his thought process and reactions and reflexes are much faster as well depending on how much he’s using it.

Pathogen, Viral Man, Epidemic, idk

This guy’s power is basically pathogen (viruses, infectious bacteria, infectious fungi, protozoa, prions. Might need to clarify further) manipulation and stuff. He has The nature of pathogens, can shrink to microscopic size, could ride the air (airborne pathogens), hang out on or inside people, anything pathogens can do (Though when he’s infiltrated someone he can’t grow large again because he himself is a pathogen until he is free. Having the nature of a pathogen, that means advanced antiviral measures can weaken him. He can bend and control pathogens. What I mean by that is that if he catches these, he can expel them and infect someone else with them, or can take pathogens out the air or anywhere and ”redistribute“ them to anything or anyone, infecting them. Pathogens in his vicinity are naturally attracted to him allowing him to more easily manipulate them further or absorb and redistribute them. He can see microscopic things And feel them in his vicinity. This also allows him to have hyper awareness by allowing him to sense his enemies’ microbiomes and He himself has very high immunity to pathogens. He can absorb pathogens from others which cured them

His main gimmick is that he can mutate pathogens to make them stronger, harder to kill, more dangerous, etc etc. This makes his possibilities on what he can do with pathogens basically infinite. Though he has a power cap. The rules of the nature of pathogens still apply. He can’t mutate a virus to make it capable of one shotting in seconds, that’s not possible. Other than mutating existing viruses in the vicinity, his immune system is constantly manufacturing new pathogens. He can add any traits he wants to these pathogens, so he could even make pathogens that infect himself and give him temporary boosts (denser bones, muscle growth, more reactive mind, etc) or he could manufacture viruses for malevolent intent.
