How can I strengthen my Canada visitor visa application without strong travel history?

My mother and I have been planning to visit Canada for quite a while now, especially because I’ve always wanted to experience at least one FIFA World Cup match in person during FIFA 2026. But honestly, the more we ask people around us, the more discouraged we become about even applying for a Canadian visitor visa.

A lot of people keep telling us that without a “strong travel history,” there’s a high chance the visa could get rejected and we’d just waste our money. So far, our only international trip has been to Saudi Arabia for around 21 days.

For context, I work as a freelancer, and my mother receives a pension after my late father’s retirement. We do have strong ties to our home country though. We own property and land here, have tax records, bank statements, and other documents that clearly show we intend to return home after the trip.

So I wanted to ask people who may have gone through this process before:

What actually helps strengthen a Canadian visitor visa application besides travel history? Are there specific documents, financial proofs, travel plans, hotel bookings, sponsorship details, or anything else that genuinely help make an application look stronger and more trustworthy to the embassy?

Would really appreciate honest advice from people with real experience instead of agent marketing or random fear-based opinions online.

Thank you in advance
