Patron and Goals for a Hexblade

I’m running a Drakkenheim campaign right now with a lvl 4 party consisting of a fighter, ranger, and Hexblade warlock. Personal quest wise, the fighter is a noble proving a claim to the throne, the ranger is looking for his brother, but the Hexblade is more complicated. His backstory is that, after finding his Hexblade in an old ruin towards the end of the civil war, he begged for an end to all wars, and his patron told him of a great source of power within Drakkenheim. I figured I could have his patron be The Whispered Promise from MoD, and the great source of power be the Pristine Geode in the crater which he would use to construct the ultimate weapon to “end all wars”. All I’ve foreshadowed so far that his patron has been wielded by many famous warriors (Sorcerer kings, Karn, and Vladimir Von Drakken for example), and I’ve role played his patron as a helpful, selfless voice emanating from his blade.

I’d like to hear your opinions or ideas on what could be a better alternative, or an optimal way to execute what I already have, that would both challenge and reward the player.
