I’m currently a Senior in Business Advisory at a Big 4 firm in New Zealand. My CA is nearly complete — I’m currently finishing ICAP, which is my final paper, and my MPE requirements will also be completed by July.

I’m looking to move to Australia in August, most likely to Sydney. At the moment, I’m unsure whether I should apply internally through my current firm to secure a role in Australia, or apply externally for roles instead.

I’d appreciate any insight or advice on the best approach. I know everyone says do your time at big 4 get the CA and senior and leave. Just not to sure about the job market in Aus if it’s as fucked as NZ is.
