Daisy help

This daisy bush was gorgeous, now it's splitting. I thought a cat was sleeping in it but according to google daisies do this. I just don't understand how to fix it. If anyone here knows? Please be nice tysm. 🩷 Zone 10a

Bought 2.5 gallon italian cypress trees from Home Depot.

I planted them 4 weeks ago, watered everyday for 1 week then switched to deep watering every Saturday.

Planted without fertilizer due to mixed information online.

I did forget to loosen root balls when transferring to ground 🫣

I'm in zone 10 California.

They look dry, with some peices breaking off when I was feeling them. But I checked under the top layer of soil and it is moist.

Are they having a moment or am I doing something wrong? The middle one looks great. If you don't mind sharing experience or advice 💚

Also brick boarders are temporary just to keep rocks away so trunks can breathe.
