Career Change

Hey everyone. I’ve been watching this page for a bit, and going through some older posts to help me make a decision on a career change. I’ve been an equipment tech for about 12 years now. Worked on everything from small engine equipment up to huge tractors. I always thought I was going to stay in this industry. But I am getting burnt out on it, and I’m already making top pay for the industry (30 years old) without much room left to grow. I’ve got two kids and a wife to support, and the benefits that come from working at a major are huge for me. I do not have an A&P license, but I do have a BS in Accounting, and an MBA (I know it’s kind of odd - but from a previous career I was hoping to get into). Currently applied for a support mechanic position, with the hopes of a pathway to my A&P. All that to ask my two questions

1.) Is there decent growth / earning potential in the industry?

2.) Does my attempt at getting on as a support mechanic seem like a wise one while trying to figure out school, family, finances, etc?

Thanks for your input!
