We have knotweed on the complete other side of the yard and see this in the fromt and am nervous

Bought a home and saw this on our fencline
I trimmed them and sprayed with roundup over the plant and into the shoot

I know i will need to repeat in fall but think maybe i do another go at trimming mid summer?

Did i do okay with a first go at managing?
