I'm looking at the newly released Transporter 26+6 on Osprey's website and noticed the dimensions say it has a 7.9" (8 inch) depth.

​I'm a bit confused because the Daylite 26+6 has a 6" depth before expansion. Does anyone know if this 8" spec for the Transporter is for the unexpanded or expanded state? If it's 8" unexpanded, I'm worried it might be too thick to pass as a personal item on budget airlines when fully packed.

Would love to hear from anyone who has bought or tested it!
