▲ 6 r/zines

Scans from the zine from March 20, 2026, so that you can better see the format and that week’s comments inside. Made one of these for each week of class, printed and folded enough copies so that every student could have one, stashed about half around campus for them to find. I brought the rest to the last day of class.

Made from a single 11x17 sheet of paper, printed both sides and folded up so it was 5.5"x4.5" (pic 1). Opens out to 5.5"x9" (pics 1 & 2). Opens out again to 5.5"x17" (pic 3). Opens down to 11"x17" (pic 4).

Inside format inspired by medieval manuscripts with commentary. Largest text a question or observation from class. Medium and smaller text student questions/comments submitted at end of week.

This is a follow-up post to my “Zines for History Course.”

Students in my history of science course send in weekly sentences about the discussion/reading. Each week I collect these sentences and make them into zines, a couple different versions so there is some variety. This semester I made a fold-out version inspired by medieval commentary format, and a small, dos-a-dos version. I then stash copies around campus—library, cafe, classrooms. I bring a box of them to last day of class.
