So, today when I was outside, I passed by our window which my dog, a year and a half old golden doodle, usually lays down by. All of a sudden he started barking and snarling at me, so I figured he just couldn't tell it was me because the window as a bit dirty.

I walk inside, go into the room and tell him it's me. He looks directly at me and walks over to me casually, and I bring my hand up to pat at his head and he suddenly bites at my wrist, causing a couple of small punctures. Very slightly broke the skin, but not deep, just a bit of bleeding. I've raised this dog since he was a few weeks old, so naturally I'm feeling betrayed and hurt. He even snarled again before I swatted him back and stepped out the room.

He looks guilty over it, and was even trembling afterwards while looking up at me, but afterwards he still lightly growled at me. He's never really done that before, but today it's like a mood he can't get out of. But I don't know what to do. He isn't fixed and we have a female dog too that he's fond of, naturally, but he's had his shots and I got him from a breeder out of state.

I'm in the process of moving and very busy, as well as strapped a little financially so I'm unsure if it's worth going to the UC to get the small punctures looked at. And I also don't know what I should do about him. A family member tells me I should put him down but that does seem preemptive and I consider him my friend. But I also would never outrun the guilt if he bit someone else like that.
