Yellow and the Scientist questions

I wonder how someone can write “for you I bleed myself dry,” yet still make a mistake so painful that they want to “take me back to the start.”

I know healing a damaged heart takes a lot. And honestly, “for you I bleed myself dry” feels incredibly warm and powerful to me. I want to love someone that deeply too.

But at the same time, I can’t fully imagine sacrificing that much without eventually wanting something in return. Can a person really give that completely, without taking?
