From what I've gathered most of the concern about Niacin being damaging to the liver is the non-flush extended release form, aka nicotinamide. The flush form, nicotinic acid, is supposedly safe to take long-term for the liver, or no? I hear conflicting thoughts on this. In my country the flush form of Niacin is no longer being sold in doses higher than 10 mg because they're now saying that's the upper limit that is safe, but nicotinamide is still being sold in higher doses here.
I just don't know what to make of it, are there any reliable sources anyone can cite about this?
