Mortgage 'dead' on exchange - a follow up

Hey all,

You may, or may not, have seen a post about my mortgage dilemma from a high street bank.

Anyway, long story short, I've exchanged today.

Shout out to the in-house mortgage adviser who managed to get me back to the 3.75 rate off the books after offering me 5.02 market rate that day.

Honestly, complaint was dealt with in rapid style and they held their hands up.

Bar the weekend of zero sleep... Completion next Thursday - we can't wait!

I found out my mortgage offer was 'dead' on day of exchange - FTB

Hey all,

I'll try and keep it as brief (and detailed as possible).

But I'm with a well known mortgage lender.

I made an online application early late last year, which was approved and offered in full.

Then in January, the rates dropped and I went on the dashboard to look for new deals.

I accepted the new one which went from 3.98 to 3.75 (nearly £60 a month!).

Received the illustration through the post and email etc.

Couldn't click anything else so assumed it would need to be approved by their side.

Anyway, I've had no correspondence until today (May 15) to say they can't approve the mortgage due to technical difficulties.

'As 90 days are up the mortgage is dead' and now I'm left with nothing.

Complaint has been risen and they've booked me in for a mortgage advisor.

I was just wondering if it has happened to anyone else? And could I get the same offer I was on?

I'm absolutely stressed to my eyeballs - so there may be errors!
