Teaches, do you actually care about your students?

I’m a high schooler and I hear teachers frequently say, “I care about you guys”, “it’s my job to keep you all safe”, stuff like that, but it’s kind of hard to believe that teachers actually care about each individual student, primarily because there are just so many kids. It’s hard to truly care about so many people at once.

Also, teachers get new students every year, so eventually you’d think that eventually it’s just typical for them, and that they’d get used to being around students, so they stop caring as much

Btw I’m specifically asking high school teachers just because younger kids are like more innocent so there’s a somewhat different reason behind caring for them, but all teachers can answer, even if you’re not a high school teacher I don’t care
