I feel like music has become predictable with algorithms.

I recently came across this radio app that honestly hit me with a wave of nostalgia I wasn’t expecting.

It’s basically an 80s/90s-style radio experience , but what surprised me is how much it actually feels like listening to the radio back then. The old jingles, the old TV Themes and memories.

No algorithm trying to “learn” you. No endless skips. Just that feeling of tuning through stations and stumbling onto something you didn’t know you wanted to hear.

It reminded me of being a kid/teen and just letting the radio run in the background, sometimes discovering a song you’d never actively search for, but end up remembering forever. Also having to listen to the DJ for the song titles.

It’s interesting how much of music discovery today is optimized… and how different it feels when it’s just a stream you can’t fully control.

Curious if anyone else misses that kind of listening experience?
