We bought a border collie cross poodle. I needed a dog that I wouldn't be allergic too and she has been wonderful. So smart.
She is 12 weeks old and we have had her with us from 8 weeks old.
However she seems to have bonded exclusively with me and not my son or my husband. Like if everyone is home and I just go upstairs to pee, she is right beside me. She is more sad if I leave for work than with anyone else.
We are trying to work on her separation anxiety before it gets any worse and we can't leave her alone at all.
We have tried dangling the keys, so she doesn't get used to the fact that keys mean someone is leaving.
She has a crate downstairs but the crying she made when stuck in it when we tried to leave, made me feel bad so we don't use that. She will willing go into it to sleep, as long as the crate door is open.
She is crate trained to an extent. She sleeps in one beside our bed at night.
She plays by herself and with us. I just feel trapped in my own home. Like I can't even leave for basic stuff anymore.
If anyone has tips, that would be much appreciated.
