With summer holidays coming up, I thought I'd share a few packing tricks that have saved me a lot of hassle.

1. Stuff your shoes: Socks, belts, chargers, sunglasses, anything small can go inside your shoes. It's free storage space that often gets wasted.
2. Pack a couple of plastic bags (and a foldable tote): Plastic bags are great for separating dirty shoes or damp clothes from everything else. I also always bring a lightweight foldable shopping bag for beach days, day trips, or shopping trips too.
3. Pack a travel extension lead or multi-socket adapter: Charge multiple devices from a single outlet and avoid hunting for extra plug sockets in hotels.
4. Use hair ties to organise charging cables: It's such a simple one, but it stops cables turning into a tangled mess at the bottom of your bag.
5. Pack a mini laundry kit: A travel-size detergent or liquid sachet can be handy if you spill something or want to rewear clothes during a longer trip.

Bonus tip: Roll your clothes instead of folding them: I was sceptical at first, but rolling genuinely saves space and seems to keep clothes from creasing as much. I've never gone back to folding to be honest.
