Michigan math and science scholars residential vs commuter student
Basically, my sister goes to umich and lives 5min away from campus with one roommate. If I were to commute, the cost of the program would be 1400 for 2 weeks. A meal pass for lunch would be an extra 125 dollars and then my sister would have to provide breakfast and dinner.
If I stay in the dorms, its an extra 1100 and in total the cost would be 2500. Am I going to be missing out on a lot if im commuting? Im not sure how many students at this program commute but I'm kind of tentative on commuting if that means it will be substantially harder for me to make friends. My family can afford either option but I already feel a little guilty for going to a paid, not that competitive summer program versus other free ones. Thoughts?
