Hi there. I’m dealing with an ongoing noise issue in a duplex where my neighbor is producing constant low-frequency bass that transmits through the shared wall and causes noticeable vibration inside my home.
I’m currently using a dB handheld meter, but it only gives me spot readings. I’m looking for a way to continuously monitor and log sound levels over hours or days, ideally with timestamps that I can export for documentation.
A few specifics:
- The issue is mostly low-frequency bass (vibration through structure) although there are also loud dB readings
- It happens daily for long stretches of time
- I’ve measured high levels outside and inside, but I want something more robust and continuous
- This is for documentation purposes, not just curiosity
Questions:
- What’s the best affordable setup for continuous logging?
- Would anything measure bass issues like this?
- Are there specific meters or mic + software setups you’d recommend that are reliable enough for real-world documentation?
I don’t need a super complex setup, just something accurate enough to show patterns over time.
Thank you in advance!
