2 Years of Programming Chess Apps: My Lessons
I recently wrote a retrospective about spending the last 2 years building chess applications and tools for Chessboard Magic after returning to programming following a 20+ year break.
The article talks about AI-assisted development, infrastructure, SEO, product design, monetization, solo development vs working with others, and the realities of trying to grow a long-term web platform in the modern internet.
A lot of it is less about chess itself and more about the lessons learned while building things publicly over a long period of time.
Hopefully some people here find it interesting or useful.
