Can anyone suggest a city-building game where you build pleasant places and lives for people, and then defend them against enemies?

I've played a lot of Total War games before I realised that I like overcoming the odds and winning by superior strategy, not numbers. But I don't like invading people or factions that haven't done anything to me. It feels mean, and I wouldn't like it.

Are there any games where you build a medieval, renaissance, or Roman city, with beautiful visuals, roads, and depth to the settlement, and then have to defend it from enemies?

Hello,

A French colleague told me that, in France, the work culture means that if you study a certain subject as a degree, your employment prospects are limited to that discipline, whereas he thought there was more freedom to transfer and switch between fields in the UK. Are there any other cultural differences that you think most people outside of France would be surprised to learn about?

Thanks

Bonjour,

Merci

Hello. There's an advert for the Samsung Galaxy S26 with some kind of Google AI thing. The advert is about some girls seeing an advert they like, circling it on their camera, and then the phone searching for that thing. While they're doing this, a song plays. Here are the lyrics I could understand.

'Hello! Don't swing, ring that bell. Heaven never felt so swell. Quiet? Not a chance. Turn this love into a dance!'

I'm slightly suspicious that both the people in the advert and the song itself are made with AI. There's something about the voice which has this hollow effect to it, like there's no real person on the other end. The song is nice, but I can't find it anywhere, so I think it has been made specifically for that advert

Appreciate any time and help
