I live near the 101 and Franklin. For the last hour or so people have been lighting off fireworks because, I guess, America or something. I viscerally react to loud noises and I’m sure many others do too. And then there are the animals.

As another treat, a police helicopter is circling the area with its PA system on. I couldn’t make out what they were saying.
