R&JSimTech Memorial Day Sale
Hey everyone, I'm running a Memorial Day sale for 15% off through Monday at midnight Eastern time on the IRTrackStar TR and IRTrackStar XtremeTrak versions. The IRTrackStar TR is a wireless direct replacement for the Track Clip Pro led clip for TrackIR, and the XtremeTrak version is optimized for those of you using Opentrack software. The XtremeTrak version is not compatible with TrackIR. Both versions offer high performance tracking, offering increases in tracking range/angle, bright room performance, smoothness and jitter reduction, as well as tracking precision due to the led selection and post processing. They both include a rechargeable and removable BL-5C battery that offers 14 to 16 hrs of runtime.
As I'm sure at least some of you have noticed, gas prices are somewhat elevated at the moment, and that is unfortunately driving up material prices and shipping costs, so please be aware that after this sale I will have to increase the price of the IRTrackStar by approximately $6 to $8. I'm actively searching for alternative materials to see if I can minimize the price hike at least to some degree, but at this point in time that range is what I'm seeing just in terms of additional costs on my end. So please take advantage of the sale this weekend as prices will be going up soon.
Also, lead times are still running a bit higher than I'd like them to be. My wife and I have had some big life changes recently with a baby on the way so we're in full build mode currently to finish a remodel on our house and building a workshop for a new side business, in addition to R&JSimTech as well as our day jobs. So please be patient as I get orders built and shipped. I am building Irtrackstars 7 days a week, I'm just not able to build as many per day as I have in the past. I do expect to have the lead time more under control soon, and as soon as I do I'll lower the projected lead times on Etsy and my website. However that likely isn't going to happen during the sale this weekend. At the moment lead times are still listed at around 4 to 5 weeks for new orders.
Lastly, I have not had time to finish the work on the new camera design, but I do expect to have time this weekend to work on it. I've given up on providing eta's on its completion, but do know that it is still on my list and being worked on. The hardware has all be selected and tested and I've been running thru prototype for the past few months in my own rig. I'm just working on mounting solutions to ensure it's durable and has flexible mounting options. As well as ensuring the varifocus zoomable lens is easy to use and dial in. The cam will be called the IRCam XTR, and combined with the IRTrackStar XtremeTrak and Opentrack software, will provide a complete high performance head tracking package. As soon as I have a completed prototype tested and production ready I'll be posting photos here on reddit and getting it added to my Etsy shop and website.
