New Elena Armas Audio Book
Has anyone listened to the new Elena Armas release, I'm Gonna Get You Back? I think it is audio book only. I know she gets mixed reviews here, but I loved Spanish Love Deception. I haven't read anything else by her. This book is about a suspense romance writer who has a stalker, and she runs into childhood friend/brother's best friend who she always loved.
I liked the idea of something with a spookier twist, but I'm only two chapters in and I'm finding the FMC so annoying? All of the hints to her "dark secret past" are so heavy handed. Her yearning is so heavy handed. There's a line that's like "the night he kissed my forehead. The only part of me he ever kissed besides my cheek" like girl, what are you even talking about?
I guess I'm wondering if anyone got past the initial cringe while they layout the setting and relationship. Does is get better? Or should I not waste my Spotify listening hours?
