What to know before installing kitchen backsplashes?
Looking into backsplash options, and didn’t expect there to be this many decisions?
Sharing a couple of things I’ve picked up so far:
-There are way more style directions than expected. Tile layouts, glass, or even running the countertop up the wall for a cleaner look
-Material choice seems to matter more long term. Tile and porcelain are easier to maintain, while slab backsplashes look great but cost more and aren’t really DIY
-Grout color can completely change how everything looks, which is easy to overlook
-Installation depends a lot on what you pick (tile sheets seem manageable, custom layouts or slabs not so much)
Pro tip: it's easier to pick something that fits the kitchen instead of chasing a trend
tl;dr: It’s one of the easier and more affordable kitchen updates, but still easy to get wrong if you don’t plan it out
