In a couple of weeks, I’ll be having my first laparoscopy, and it’s been hard to keep my mind off the procedure. It’s a diagnostic surgery with possible excision if endometriosis is found in the pelvis.. if discovered on other organs, I’ll need a referral to another surgeon. I’m hoping to hear from anyone with similar symptoms who has had a successful laparoscopy. After 10 years on birth control, my PCP recommended stopping to see if it would help reduce my night sweats. Eight months later, my period finally returned, despite monthly ovulation pain, sharp-shooting aches, and ongoing night sweats. My endometriosis symptoms worsened—triggering allergic reactions, ovarian cysts, and sharp belly button pain. Thankfully, my PCP quickly referred me through the proper channels within six months, bringing me to this point. I started my period tonight, which as always is painful yet light accompanied with anxiety.. so I might just be overthinking.. but figure I'm coming to the right place for that lol
