Just bought a home in Austin, TX for $410,000 but tax office has it assessed at almost $550,000 I was told at closing I should be able to have it dropped to purchase price of the home. I got the home at a good price it was assessed at $480,000 previously how to I go about fixing my tax assessment and can I get it down to purchase price. I just filed a homestead on the property today!
