The ugliest execution of a beautiful block

Lol. I'm in the preparation phase for the disappearing hour glass quilt. I'm a bit nervous about cutting the fabric as these are my very first fat quarters to cut. I did the math several times but I wanted to be 100% sure the finished block has the right size. So I decided to make a mock up block to get an impression and created this monstrosity. There was no iron involved. The seam allowance was guessed. I did a mistake in the very first seam but decided to continue anyway. I measured once and cut twice. Everything was hushed. And now I'm kind of disgusted/impressed of the outcome and wanted to share. (this block will end up as stuffing)
