Hi!

I was hoping to get some insight if anyone had recommendations for bikes for someone training for an triathlon for the first time, and who doesn't currently have a bike (was lost in a move unfortunately). Do I need to get a road bike? I'm not sure if I'll do another after this so I don't want to commit if I could in theory train with a pavement bike and then rent a road bike for the day-of. Is that a good idea or should I bite the bullet and get a road bike (used or new I haven't decided)?
