Looking for advice in the inpatient setting! How do you go about making your recommendations when seeing older patients with dementia who qualify for EN? Do you just say “Recommend nutrition support etc etc” and also address “if it’s within their goals of care”? And then let the rest of the care team handle it from there? It feels inappropriate to be recommending nutrition support in these situations.. but the family is often making the decisions for the patients and it’s ultimately up to them on what they want to do and it is an option that is available.. I guess I’d love to hear how other people go about these situations!
