Devon and Daki were in the temple during Order 66

Theory

In the episode ‘Night of the Hunted’ Daki explains Order 66 to Captain Lawson as ‘My Padawan and I barely survived what could only be described as a purge of the Jedi Order.’

That’s very specific, which likely means they saw the purge firsthand and were in the Jedi temple when order 66 happened and barely managed to escape.

And we have seen Jedi were able to escape the purge on coruscant like Kelleran Beq and Grogu in the season three flashbacks.

This would also explain why Devon would have a hatred for the empire and not fear like other Jedi survivors.

She witnessed the Jedi order be wiped out in front of her, have her future robbed from her and now craves an unfulfilled destiny as Maul described it.

Devon won’t betray Maul to avenge Daki theory

With the current big fan theory that Devon will eventually learn that Maul betrayed Daki she will be why he was stranded on Malachor.

The thing is though is that is years later some time after Solo, and based on how angry Devon was when Vader cut him down.

Devon wouldn’t be the type to bide her time for the right moment not without years of Sith training but she’s more likely to learn of the betrayal sooner rather than later.

My guess is that if Devon does find out it will either be in season two or three and will confront Maul directly and fight him but won’t be able to beat him.

Plus Maul will still want to manipulate the situation using harsh truths and manipulations like he was too set in his ways he was too attached to the Jedi principles and that his stubbornness would eventually have gotten them both killed.

And in a weird twisted way she will learn to forgive him because they have formed some kind of bond before she learns the information and being tapped into the dark side would warp her mind and viewpoints.

While I still think Devon will be the one who leaves Maul stranded on Malachor I just don’t think it will be because he betrayed Daki.
