Amazon “robbed” me of my 5090 - has this happened to anyone?
I had an RTX 5090 GPU it in my cart for ~$4,850 but when I went to check out, it reported something along the lines of “undeliverable to this address”. I changed it from my home to my office, then to a friend’s house, then tried 3 different Amazon locker locations…all “undeliverable”.
After about 1-2 minutes of frantically going back and forth between a half dozen addresses I have used in the past without issue (including buying several 5070 tis), it dropped out of my cart and became unavailable. Of course I was totally able to get past the shipping step and to the payment section when I added a $7300 5090 a second later.
Has this happened to anyone? Does Bezos have some sort or of back room deal with scalpers? Someone got this thing WAAAAAY below current market value. Wtf!
EDIT: I didn’t actually buy @ $7300, but rather tested that the address was indeed OK for such a high value item.
