Cloth Diaps on a Mobile Baby
We're moving into our next phase of cloth diapering (and parenting!) as our son is outgrowing the fitted diapers we have at the same time he's learning to crawl and pulling to stand!
I'm trying to figure out how to bulk out our stash to work for a mobile baby/toddler.
Our stash up until now has been:
Mother-ease Sandy's (9/10) - totally leak proof. So much absorbency. Love the softness and breathability of the air flow covers. Wash and dry easily. Deducted one point for ease of use because the snaps can be a little fiddly.
Flats with snappis and covers (7/10) - we've loved our flats. Being able to change folds to fit our baby has been a plus. We've had occasional near-leaks that the covers have contained. Love how easy they are to wash and dry. Deducted points since they take more time to fold. Also, now that baby is on the move, they seem to slide down off of his little bum.
One-size Pockets (5/10) - we have some thirsties natural and some kinder cloth luxe, both hook and loop style. They work fine. We haven't had leaks, but I really hate stuffing pockets. I also hate having to pull the absorbency out of the the kinder pockets before tossing them in the laundry. We'll keep using these since we have them, and they should fit through potty training.
Mother-ease wizard duo (10/10) - we have 4 covers and 8 overnight inserts. We currently use these for our overnight diapers. They hold so much liquid. They're easy to add boosters to. It's nice to only have 1 thing to snap onto a wiggly baby. I find snapping the inserts in much less tedious than stuffing pockets. Same great soft fabric as the airflow covers. Trim fit. No leaks. Wash up like brand new even with solid food poos in the mix now. Love them.
So we need about 12-16 more diapers to replace the fitteds baby is growing out of. We want something that will:
fit through potty training
allow baby to feel wet (not stay-dry)
easy to get on a wiggly baby
stay put crawling, walking, playing, etc.
Currently considering:
next size sandy's
wizard uno natural cotton
3 l stretchy pre- flats
Does anyone have input or recommendations? Which diapers have you liked with your older babies and toddlers?
