Idk if this is the right thing to post under, I’ve never made a post before.

I was recently dismissed from my fast-track program after my second failure. My professor was truly awful, it often took weeks for her to email me back let alone meet with me. She used lectures from the previous professor, said “I plan on filming my own but it probably won’t be until next semester”, and made the exams based off information not in the lectures. Only provided additional resources if everyone in the class begged. Told us multiple times that she didn’t expect us to do well on the exam because it was intense content. Made me create an hour by hour schedule of how I spend my time so she could analyze my study schedule and told me I had too much free time (it was an hour right before I went to bed). All of us failed the second exam so bad she was forced to meet with the chair of the department and offer a remediation assessment. I asked her if we had a tutor for the class and she told me that she had no idea if we had one and that if I wanted one it was my job to figure it out. She insisted I meet with the academic resource counselor and emailed them mid February for almost 2 months I emailed them and begged her to help me reach out to them and she told me that she would and never did (I finally had to ask my advisor to email them because for TWO MONTHS they refused to respond to my many many emails). Additionally, she resigned literally a week before our final and finished out the semester but did nothing to help us before the final because she simply didn’t care anymore (I can almost guarantee it was a case of either you resign or you are fired).

Last semester I was diagnosed with POTS and it had definitely been affecting me especially my memory. I will admit I probably could have done more but I reached out to every avenue possible (advisor, professor, tutor, academic recovery) and was met with roadblocks every step of the way. Genuinely one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my program.

I talked with my advisor and explained the situation I had to deal with this semester and she essentially told me that I could attempt to appeal but that it is unlikely anything will come of it as “I could have done more”. She also told me it’s unlikely that another program will accept me because I’m in “bad standing” with my current program and told me that there were other programs at my current university I could look at since I’m still in rolled there. I sent my professor an email asking if there is anything I could do before my official appeal and haven’t heard back yet but I would greatly appreciate any advice people have for me. Thank you in advance!
