Looking to rent due to the evacuation
Hello everyone, due to the evacuation, my landlord decided to end our lease early for safety reason. I have no where to go even after the evacuation ends. If anyone is renting out a studio or know of someone, please direct me their way. My budget is around $1250 max. Thank you.
**PLEASE READ** Edit 2: Thank you everyone for the responses. My dilemma is that our place is 2 streets down from where the evacuation line ends however, the police came by to tell us to evacuate. I recently called the non-emergency line and they said our address is NOT in the evacuation zone, therefore safe to return. I told my landlord and he still said no due to safety concern and only available to pick up our stuffs. He also sent back the deposit, left over rent money from this month and $300 extra for each person to help with the relocation cost. He told us to look for another place as he’s ending the lease early. I would prefer to stay at the house but he said he’s not “renting” it so I’m not allowed to stay until the evacuation order lifted? It doesn’t make any sense to me but I’m honestly too stress out to even think.
Edit: I’m renting a room with 2 other roommates. Our lease was supposed to end in 2 months. The landlord said he’s not renting the property until the evacuation order is lifted. He returned the deposit to us as well as refund the days of the evacuation.
