I subscribe to ~40 newsletters (mostly tech, ai etc'). I read maybe 3 a week. The rest pile up, I feel guilty, I bulk-archive on Sunday, repeat.

I built digestbox.email to fix this for myself and want to see if it's useful to anyone else.

How it works:
- You get a unique alias like u_abc123@news.digestbox.email.
- Subscribe to newsletters with that address (no forwarding, no IMAP, no inbox access).- Tell it what you care about ("AI infra", "indie game dev", "FDA approvals" - whatever).
- It only pings you when an incoming issue actually contains something matching your interests. Everything else is silently dropped.

The filter is deterministic first - sender rules, exclusion terms, a weighted keyword ranker. An LLM can re-rank the shortlist, but it never sees raw email content as the first pass, and it's optional.

Pricing: 7-day trial, no card. $5/mo after. Solo-built, not VC-funded, not trying to scale to a million users.

What I'd love feedback on:

  1. Is "alias you subscribe with" weird, or does it click?
  2. Would you trust a third party with your newsletter intake at all?
  3. What would make you actually try it vs. just nod and close the tab?

Roast it. Mod team - happy to flair as self-promo, let me know if format's off.
