Overstay - please help

My friend is planning to visit Canada again for a few weeks after having lived there for almost 4 yrs since 2021 to study/work but had to move back home after the government’s refusal of his employer’s sponsorship. The rejection came abruptly so it took a bit of time for him to fix all the departure logistics, which led to an overstay of about 2 months. He then left voluntarily after fixing everything - finding someone to take over his lease, packing all of his things etc. He is worried itll be kinda hard for him to be let in after the short overstay but he applied for an e-visa last night & was approved. However, he understands that this isn’t a guarantee. I think he’s still going to go for it because there’s only one way to find out if he’ll be allowed back in. He understands that it was an unauthorized stay and he wants to show them that he will comply as a visitor.

He genuinely just wants to visit because he misses it and wants to see his friends over there.

He has ties to his country since he does private dining as a chef & have ongoing clients/bookings, tho it’s not registered as a business. Will this also raise some red flags at the border?
