Planting question

Hi all,
We bought an abandoned house 2 years ago in New York that sits on 2 acres. The area adjacent to the long driveway is that leads to the home was overrun with poison ivy. I managed to kill most of it by cutting it back then smothering it with cardboard, particleboard, or anything else I could get my hands on.

It is time to removes the smother materials but I know I need to plant something right away. As you see, there is lots of milkweed poking through, some of which I will leave. I already added some tickseed to the back.

What native plants do you recommend that will spread aggressively and be pretty?

Thanks!
